    And it goes on..

Got a more up-to-date dvd rom - genuine I should add, tried uploading (engine running) and get to the stage and no further:

    satnav screen.

So I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and tried again with the original disc and still getting the same. Tried the three finger salute, the menu and return button combo all with no joy.

Don't know what to do next :Unknown:

have you tried cleaning the lense they get very dusty. use a baby wipe on a flat ruler inserted into the dvd drive carefully. then move it side to side slowly and pull if out. mine was straggling till I tried that. hope its as simple as. tony.

It's a new drive in the dvd player. I know there's a power supply issue but I'd hoped that wouldn't effect and software changes. I fear the worst on this one..

did try that, held the menu and zoom down button for a few minutes without any joy. when I switch on the ignition it goes straight to that screen and that's it! I only took the negative of the battery for a few minutes I'm wondering if I should've left it longer?

right you will need to do this then

Look up the xcarlink install thread in how to remove the central unit then try this http://hondakarma.com/threads/696/

you need to remove the main power cable to the back of the DVD rom drive unit three times before the system resets.

I've had the unit out so no problems there. Is it the power lead in the back of the dvd rom? and do you literally mean uplug/plug three times?

CJ, Out of curiosity, how long do you need to leave in between unplugging and plugging back in ?

As soon as the screen starts to boot unplug the power source at the back of the DVD unit then repeat twice until it boots cleanly.
