Got my car back on Tuesday after having the clutch master cylinder replaced, work carried out by a local garage with links to the dealership (not Honda) I bought the car from.

The mechanic had a good moan about the job, awkward to do, expensive part and bad design of the part.

Didn't cost me a penny and happy that it has been fixed.

The clutch was hard to push and squeaked, garage said it was very common because of the bad design, then showed me the old part to prove his point.

    Hmm.
I'm presuming I have the same master cylinder as you - both 7th Generation, but mine PFL.
    So far, no problems here.

Do you have the old one, and if so, able to post a few pics?

My clutch pedal squeaks/creaks too. It's not hard to push though.

Might get it checked at next service.

Half the CMC can be saved by lubricating the rod, as its a bad design is another thing. Poor techinican no Honda experince so it a bad design,:lol: A honda techy can change the CMC within a hour.

Mine creaked for a long while, until I actually got down there one day and greased the push rod. Not heard it every again (make sure you some rubber safe grease).

    1) Grease the rod
    2) push the pedal a few times
    3) Repeat a few times from step 1

You may still hear a slight squeak but it goes after some use of the clutch pedal.
