Today was my first go at detailing,
I have an autoglym kit that I got of my dad.

I washed it using the shampoo and conditioner then clay barred it, then applied and autoglym paint renovator with a sponge applicator then buffed off with a microfiber cloth, the applied super resin polish with a damp cloth then buffed off again, then applied the extra gloss protection and left for an hour or more then buffed off with a microfiber cloth. Then I applied Maguires tyre gel, first time I've used it seems good, then Mer plastic renovating gel to black bits.
    And now I cream crackered!

They do, it's funny cos they always look clean, but then when all polished up they don't Bling! Not like black or blue or my dad's nightfire red 406! Lol.

But yeh I'm happy with the outcome.

@Kris81 - good job. Get yourself a DA polisher, they are absolutely brilliant, you won't look back after using one.

Cool, you will get even better results with a DA. firstly you will get swirl removal with a light cutting pad and polish. All you'll need is Meguiars 205 polish ans some polishing pads, personally i use chemical guys hexlogic pads.

OK thanks, I'll probably try it out on my dad's black kia sedona first, as he is paying for it! Lol

@wanner69 - any chance you could provide links to your recommended cutting and polishing pads so others know what they should be buying?

@Kris81 - after using a DA polisher, you won't look back. There are numerous videos online of the best way to use one so they can be found with a simple google.

I love my DA polisher, and now I have another black car to play about with it on.

Links would be good, coming from a newby to detailing all the different products are confusing, I've watched a few videos on line but ofcourse everyone has different names for stuff.
