Hi everyone, picked my 2012 CR-V up a week ago. Its a 2.2 I-DTEC EX so has all the toys which i love. Having come from a modified mx5 i thought i might be disappointed but although its totally different to the mx5 i love driving it. Only things planned at the moment are side steps (any recommendations anyone). You seem a friendly bunch on here so hope to get some advice when needed
    Cheers Alan image. image.

Hi @Alano welcome to THE club for everything Honda. I don't have side steps on my CR-V but there are a few CR-V owners in the club who do. They'll be along to give advice soon. CR-V - fabulous cars!

Welcome to Honda Karma @Alano :Hey:

Your CR-V sure looks the part, good hear you are enjoying her.

Hopefully the CR-V guys can advise you on the side step options. I'm sure there would be a Honda option not sure about any other options.

My 2014 model has sidesteps as standard but I can't see the point of them given their peculiar shape. In fact they only act as sidesteps for the rear doors as when they reach the front doors they disappear to virtually nothing. A clear case of style over substance (not that I like the style) or they are designed to accommodate elderly or infirm rear seat passengers!

I agree Keith i prefer the full width ones. I've seen a few different styles available for my model on t'internet so will post photos when i finally decide which style to go for

You've got me thinking Alano. I wonder if they do full width ones for my model - they probably do but I bet they are prohibitively expensive and for me are decorative only, so I'll probably just live with the ones I've got. Mind you, I could just remove them.

    Welcome to HondaKarma @Alano :welcome:

Always good to see more CR-V owners on the site.

I agree with @155695 about the genuine Honda side steps - at least for the current generation - they look ok, but I'm not sure what purpose they really serve!
