Hi guys my names James and im new to the forum, my current car is a 2003 Civic Type-R 30th Anniversary and I've previously owned a 2005 Civic Type-R Premier and a 1997 Accord 2.2 VTEC auto.

As 95% of my miles I do is a 490 mile motorway drive every other week im considering getting rid of the Type-R in favour of a more comfortable Accord.

Hi and welcome. I guess you'll be looking for a 2.4 manual next then.

    Welcome to AOC James.

I too have an Civic Type-R but getting in the Accord is still a pleasure. You'll definitely be wanting the 2.4

Auto will be a bit sluggish mate. The manual is the one to go for.

I know the auto won't be as quick as the manual but having owned an old 1997 2.2 4 speed auto with only 150bhp, the 190bhp 5 speed should be quick enough.

Fair enough, I just thought coming from the CTR you may want the extra nippiness.

i know but the Type-R is not being used for what i originally bought it for, was for a 29 mile back road commute but as i now do a 490 mile drive every other week i just want some comfort and not have to bother changing gear all the time plus my Type-R has a 2.5 inch unsilenced exhaust which is deafning.

OOhh you don't want a loud exhaust on long journeys, sure recipe for a headache Lol

Accord is definitely what you need for long journeys, comfortable, quiet, effortless.
