Hi. I have just joined while looking for my next car, specifically a 2006/7 Accord Type-S after a really terrible time I've spent in the last 2 years pouring money into with a 2.0l Mondeo Ghia which has just blown its second engine on me. Previous Honda's I've had include a 89 CR-X 1.5X, 91 CR-X 1.5X, 94 Integra ZX, 97 Integra SIR-G, 93 Integra SI 4 DR and a 98 Civic VTI-S. I was one of the first members of CR-X-UK and a very active member of Honda Revolutions and then Honda Evolutions (what’s happened there by the way, I just logged in for the first time in 18 months and the place is a ghost town?) Anyway, this looks like a good spot, I'm going to waste the next few days reading through the archives J

Judder in first gear when the car is warm, means a warped flywheel.
    Clutch pedal creek easy fix
make sure aircon is ICE cold
    check for unwanted suspension noise.
check rear tyres for uneven wear , can be camber issue.
other than that they are bomb proof.

I was disapointed that the car threw a CEL on the test drive! They plugged in the computer and got code came up as "rocker actuator stuck on bank 1".

Obviously I'm rather uneasy now. The car is in great condition, full Honda service history and i managed to get the previous owners name and address from the service book so im going to give them a call.

Anyway if they sort the problem I will buy it I think?!?

    WP2.

Hi Guys on the ST-6000 unit he was using 084326460100 and on the 2nd line P2649 then he scrolled in a few screens to show "Rocker Arm Actuator Control Circuit High/Stuck Bank 1"

    Thanks,
    John

Got you :Wink:a P2649 is generally associated with poor connections or loose terminals at the VTEC solenoid valve and the ECU.

    Can be three thing

    lose connection
    Faulty VTEC Solenoid or
    Duff ECU

Just check if thus car not been hacked before for a remap or some wiredness.

Cheers mate. I've told the guy I want to check the car over fully once he has that sorted and before I agree to buy. Much appreciated.

TBH if the selller hasn't been messing with the electricals then I would put it down to the poor oil changes . Take the engine oil filler cap you see carbon just walk away bud.

No point buying it if it's been neglected, thats my 2 p
