    Hello folks,
I'm about to pull the trigger on an Accord for the wife and I have narrowed it down to two cars.
One is a 58 plate EX GT in black with 41K from a main dealer so comes with a 12 month warranty and the other is an 09 Type-S in dark red with 54K from an independent and comes with a 3 month warranty. The EX GT is 11 grand and the Type-S is 12.5 and we REALLY can't decide which to go for.
If it was your money, which would you buy.

    Regards,

    Ivor.

I would go for EX GT because of lower mileage and price plus 12 month warranty.

Depends if you want to pay an extra 1.5k for 30 more BHP in the Type-S. I wouldn't. Plus you get a longer warranty with the EX GT...

Plus the Basque Red colour on the Type-S isnt all that great to me. Black is black. In the summer, you know which colour will show up best

I agree with Zoran, for me its ex gt from main dealer all the way. Type-S is a great car and neither cause us problems but with a 12 month waranty you can't go wrong. Enjoy whichever you choose.

    Opinions please

How reliable are these machines? I paid for an extra 12 months warranty on the wife's Jazz and it was a waste of money because in the two years of ownership we have had it, it has been faultless.
The Type -S over the GT is bigger alloys full leather and xenons plus the extra 30 BHP.
This is why I can't decide, lol.

Both cars are reliable - as long as they are maintained properly.

If you want kit, forget both of those and find yourself an ADAS-equipped EX model.

Depends on the mileage, as with all things.

    Opinions please

I don't want a high miler. And don't want to wander too much over 12K

don't get a black car unless you're prepared to wax it regularly, or pay a detailer to do it. They just get swirly and look awlful in the sunlight.

Saying that all dark colours are high maintenance to keep looking good.

No sure if any of the very early 08 plate cars have ADAS.

But for that budget and a mileage of 70k odd, you should be able to find one.

When the 8th Generation was launch it had ADAS from day one even on manuals which was not an option on the 7th Generation.

Get then to chuck a space saver tyre in for free, about £150, essential as the repair gunge wrecks the tyre.

    Opinions please

Change of plan. Went to pick up the car this morning (first time to see it in the dry) and it was really disappointing. There were some bad stone chips on the bonnet and some nasty scratches on the side, front and rear bumper.
So I opted for the Type-S I was also looking at

Good decision, they deserve to lose the sale if they can't be bothered to prepare their used cars properly. Only needs a good machine polish and some airburshing of the chips.

Name and shame them I would.

Oh these defects were beyond polishing. The salesman agreed with me that the rear bumper would have had to have been brought back in the new year to be corrected !!

Type-S it is then Jaytio make sure you Type-S has had all of it warranty work done by looking it up on the Honda website.

Of if you can PM me your VIN number I will look it up, Since this car is at an independent seller lot they will not have a clue what been done and what is outstanding.
