Started reading this last night - ok, I know its a Peugeot, but have a read of this log. He rescues this 309 which is in a pretty bad state. The level of detail he puts into it is truly truly commendable. I wish we could have a log like this on HK. That would win my vote hands down for HOTM.

Ignore the fact its not a Honda, just read this log - I now have it bookmarked.

Anyone thinks the brakes may need looking at?

He is on page 28 of the log and he is only starting on the mechanics. Its bodywork and interior. He is keeping everything original and having to source parts from the EU

It's good, but he isn't going to win no concours competitions with it.

Good read, I like the 309 along with other Pugs of that era such as the 205 and 405. The body seems to be in very good nick and I'm glad am not the only one who uses baby wipes to clean parts of the metal!

The problem I have with the people on that site is that they seem to work towards things looking shiny for people on the internet to commend them for. Whereas they should be doing the job properly to ensure the longevity of the vehicle they're working on. It's too easy to spray a bit of black paint over everything

I have an uncle who has spent thousands keeping his A reg Ford Granada running for daily use, people keep stopping him to offer money for it. In 35+ years this is only his second car, before the Granada it was a Ford Zodiac (4th Generation).

There is no price for that level of care, so well done to @Duc de Pommfrit's uncle.
Many just can't be bothered - Just buy a new one or get someone else to fix it. The problem arises when there isn't anyone with the skill or knowledge to fix it, or they are unwilling to pay for the expertise.
We've seen far too many 'bodged cars' turn up here with the new owner trying to put things right. If a jobs worth doing, do it right.

Please tell me it's 2.8 Ghia X Estate with an optional chrome roof rack! I'd love one of them.

Oh dear, that site is bad - I just keep reading on the restorations. They have a 1st Generation MR2 restored - always had a huge soft spot for one of these. Great little cars.

Everytime I see the Granada it reminds me of Onslow from Keeping up Appearances

Read the one about the Rover 75. That'll put you off the site for good.
