I always thought the VTEC kicked in at around the 4000rpm mark but found this:

    Power: 189 HP (140 kW) @ 6800 RPM
    Torque: 164.5 lb·ft (223;N·m) @ 4500 RPM
    VTEC Engagement: 6000 RPM
    Redline: 7200 RPM

With i-VTEC theres three phases of cam adjustment (VTEC) as well as timing advancement at higher revs.

You can only feel mine at about 6k, the noise hardens and you feel the shove plus it bangs the limiter in no time. Lovely stuff.

I feel mine kick in at around 4000 RPM then whistles along to the red line fairly rapid

I'm thinking it may have been the torque I was feeling at 4000rpm

UPDATE: Just went out for a drive and I can't believe I missed it all this time. There is a slight note change at about 4,000rpm but you can definitely hear the big change at 6,000rpm. Happy days

You should go and find a B18C4 to go and play with .. VTEC is strong in that one....
    I miss mine :Sobbing:
