I thought to start a new thread about my cars rear differential noise which continues from this thread
HVAC - Air conditioning/climate control problem • Honda Karma
Today I went to see a Honda specialist about the noise on my cars rear differential ,after I show it he said that there are few more cases as mine and he
is going to open a investigation with HUK to come out with a solution.
He said the Croaking noise comes from inside of diff and probably needs changing with a new one to cure it,but I will wait and see what HUK suggests.
So if you hear the same noise contact your main dealer ASAP

    Update.
My car has been at the main dealers for investigations and data since wednesday.
Tomorrow HUK are coming to inspect the car themselves and make a decision what to do to fix the problem which in my mind is simple (just change the differential with a new one)
On the main time I had the opportunity to test drive for few days this beast(the black edition diesel ) What a difference ,makes me even more disappointed with Honda about petrol CR-V . WP_000569. WP_000569. WP_000571. diesel)

    Almost a nice as mine!

Still not sold on those black wheels though.

Regarding the croak noise, I believe its limited to petrol CR-Vs. Not (yet) heard of any diesel owner with this issue.

Today HUK specialist gone to inspect my car and changed the electric motor which according to them cured the croaking noise(until it comes back) but I will go there tomorrow to see it myself .
They said that is very rare problem and is a elimination process to find out what is causing the problem .
Also they found a leak on the A/C pipes and going to change that tomorrow.
And the gap on instrument panel ,it wasn't nothing wrong with the panel but according to them there are couple adjusting screws needed adjustment to close the gap .
I feel very lucky to pick a new car with so many problems,I totally lost trust on Honda but who can you trust on this situation ?

    I feel your pain Leonard.

Buying a new car is a huge decision and it knocks a persons confidence when that car has faults. In hindsight, I would also say that at least in your case, Honda are proactively righting-the-wrongs and that surely has to count too.

Your car is still under warranty as well, so not all faith should be lost. As it is, you still have a petrol-engined Honda which are totally bombproof. No car maker can produce a 101% flawless, fault free car, but its good to know that Honda, in this case, are fixing things that should not have happened in the first place. Roll on more enjoyable CR-V time for you

Today I picked up my car an surprisingly nobody from the tech guys was there to ask tech stuff.
The noise has gone ,I do not know for how long and I been told that the electric motor of the pump for the rear differential has been changed and HUK are going to consult with HUSA to find out
what they did to fix the problem on the long run.I am not sure how the motor fixed the problem or they stuffed up the differential with grease as e temporary fix.!!!!!!!

Least its fixed now - now to enjoy the car as mother nature intended. I hope that the fix they have done is a permanent one, thus preventing you the need to have it seen to again.

Let is know how you get on Squire :Niceone:

As you said DK is fixed for now but according this guys there is not a cure until Honda redesign the diff.

Please read the comments on this video.
You said that diesel CR-V have different diff ,how sure are you about it and if that's right can that fit on petrol CR-V?

I don't know for sure if the diff on the I-DTEC is different than the petrol CR-V, but I can assure you I certainly do not have this croak sound, nor have I heard any other diesel owner say the same. As diesel CR-Vs are not available in the US, the US CR-V forum also has instances of this noise you experienced so I can only guess its a petrol car issue.

Happy to stand corrected though if I am wrong.

The A/C pipe wasn't damaged but had a small leak ,when I checked it was the thin pipe of the A/C that was changed at engine bay.

Surprising when the car is so new and the aircon system has sprung a leaks so early? But stranger things have happened to made in Swindon cars I suppose.. How is the rear diff behaving now.

A lot of strange things going on on my car ,today I checked the tyre pressure and they have been inflated at 42PSI .on the door label noted at 33PSI !!! Why this difference ?
What do you normally inflate your tyres?

Did you fill the tyres ? I check the tyre pressure when the tyres are bone cold and not having the sun shining on them. A lot of petrol pump gauges are not calibrated get your own pressure gauge.

@leonard you really are having a bad time with your CR-V. I stick my tyres on 31psi all round generally, 33psi sounds right for the heavier CR-V. 42psi is quite insane :Messed: As CJ says, I'd definitely get that reading double checked.

Well I have no idea why they'd put them so high, @Ichiban? But it's not something a dealer would ever check up on unless promoted to be quite honest.

If it's the dealer then their gauges are calibrated regularly its your pressure gauge which could be faulty when did you check the tyre pressure I.e cold or hot?

I have a snap on digital tyre pressure gauge which was 50 quid I want perfect pressures ,personally all handheld air pressure garage are #}%^ you have to go to the professional range.
