When we bought the 2009 CR-V 2.2cdti es a couple of months ago,the rear parking sensors worked ok but not the front...this was ok as it's the rear I need mostly.
Unfortunately, the rears have stopped working now...all clean etc so if anyone could suggest a possible cause,I'd very much appreciate comments.
    Thank you.

Normally the earthing points are fouled up - I would check these first.

    Are they switched on?

On my 2009 ES there is an override switch on the lower left hand side of the dash.

    You could have knocked it!

Wizard, had a look just now but can't see any of an override switch on dash...bottom left side button is the so called rear and mirror de- fogging one.
What kind of image should be on the override?

When I got my 08 CR-V the Honda dealer informed me that 2rear sensors had packed due to water had got in them! They said they had not come across this problem before but changed them before I collected the car.
Hope yours is just the switch is off and nothing major!

Seems I don't have that button so must be an extra fitted to your 2009 es model.
Obviously only fitted if one has headlight washers.

Does it mean replacing them completely if water has got in?
Will get them checked for any other cause anyway but if water kills them off, they don't stand much of a chance in our climate!
Had sensors on a previous car ( Type-S Jaguar) and they never failed in five years.

I used to fit many many sets of after market parking sensors, hardly any now as they come fitted as standard on so many cars.

Easy way to test them is to put ignition on (engine NOT running) & car in reverse. Then very gently place little finger on sensors one by one. You can normally feel a slight pulsing OR if in a quiet place, put ear next to sensor and you should hear it ticking.

If you find one that isn't doing this then investigate wiring or swap sensors around. If problem swaps side it's the sensor.

Installing aftermarket sensors is not hard at all providing you have a basic understanding on car electrics. I installed my cobra R0394 flush ones in a matter of a few hours. These are the same parking sensors that are used in many different types of cars and sit completely flush with the bumper. German cars tend to use the flush ones alot
