image. Has anyone considered changing the home position of the rear wiper on their FR-V?

At the minute it sits upright, but how cool would it look laying flat ?

I'm sure there was a mod on the Jazz where you changed the wiper relay with one from a golf and it simply changed the on (1) off (2) around.

Oh and now it's baby proofed

I believe the switches that control the home position are built into the wiper mechanism itself.

What if the switch was rotated ? Make it see home as away and vise versa.

I'm not too sure what the circuit looks like or where you would make the change. You need the circuit diagram to see what can be done. Would be an awesome mod though.

I think the location of the arm is perfect as it a big glass surface area to cover, if you changed the rear wiper arm location you will need to change the mounting of the motor to compensate the swipe area. My concerns are will the rear intermittent control unit like that new swipe mode as it designed to work in it current location.

I don;t think Rob means that he just wants to move the wiper. Just have it start from the other end.

So how is that possible without moving it from its current location or I am missing something?

It'll start from a different position but the swipe area will be the same. Technically possible if the switch wiring allows it.

IIRC for Jazz in order for you to park it up JDM style you have to open the mechanism up and cut out a plastic pin, that enables the whole mechanism to rotate so you wiper swipes down and back up rather than up and down.

Rob I'm pretty sure JDM style is wiper parked vertically up on glass and not horizontal. In fact parking horizontal means dust and leaves gather on it and be a pain in the back side.

I thought you mentioned JDM style but since I cannot see it in your post, my reply is no longer valid.

I'm not bothered about dust tbh, more on how it looks.

You could argue that dust could gather on the fronts and damage the glass also.

Ok being pedantic I just took a look outside and every car in the street it's down.
I think it defiantly looks a lot better and it must be simple to just change the signal so that home is down rather then up.
Turn switch ON and signal goes on (down) on (up) on (Down)
Turn switch off and signal goes : where am I. Right stop at (up).

All I need is something to make it say stop at (down).

    It should be simple
I doubt it'll put any more strain on the motor starting from down then up.

I think I need to look at the bsd's and find a few relays to play with

My understanding is also you just need to change the command of when and where to start and stop moving, how to do so I don't know but would be interested in how to.

When I have some cash I can afford to waste I'll try putting the relay in backwards or the vw one.
I don't fancy damaging anything though

The rear wiper motor looks a sealed unit unlike the Jazz.

So it looks like a relay to change the signal is the answer.

Do I put one in and hope it doesn't pop.

Surely the parking position of any wiper is determined purely by the configuration of its integral parking switch?
