On a planet of finite resources, where capitalism requires ever increasing pyramidal consumption in order to succeed, this ain't gonna end well.
Very eloquently put Andy and very true!!!!!
That first picture of the queues, and the seeming order waiting to get onto a train, reminds me of the first time I went to China.
I'd been on a train, and ended up in Shenzhen. Everywhere was chaotic, loads of people everywhere in the streets, slightly intimidating TBH. But, when I went to cross the road, the contradiction of the country became apparent to me - even though the road was totally clear, everybody was waiting patiently for the "green man" signal to cross - which having worked in Central London for years, I found pretty amazing (and a bit odd!).
Great country though, love it and the Chinese people.
^^Let's just hope that China and the United States stay on good terms, as I don't want to be around if they "fall out"...
Fortuntately the Chinese have pherhaps some hopeful ideas to reduce this horrible congestion scenario ..
