I have just been to my mates garage to pick up my little Suzuki Jimny after its MOT.
He casually said to me, your a Honda guy so have a look at my latest project.
I want to drive this one when he is finished.

Mad! Always a fan of swaps, but that is rather unusual.

Props for being different, but there are a few other choices of motor i'd go with first. Just my opinion though, can't help but appreciate your mates skills.

Its typical of him. When you find a S2000 that's track ready but with a blown engine and then have a £300 Volvo 960
but with a good 2.3 petrol turbo engine why not.
Apparently the Volvo lump is lighter and produces max torque from 2500 RPM.
With the current gearing it will only do about 120mph but it will get there bloody quick.

He has always looked at things from a different point if you know what I mean.
Passed projects include, Ford Anglia and a old Vauxhall running tuned 2.0ltr Ford Zetec lumps with full cages.
Suzuki sj with a Isuzu tubo diesel engine and a Scimitar that's on the backburner at the moment.
He still owns them all and will need a bigger workshop soon.

I do respect his skills.can't have been easy - lol
But you can't have a volvo engine in an S2000 (My all time fav car is an S2000, exception of the NSX) - lol
Having said that, I would love to see how it performs

Apparently it went in very easily. The Volvo rad and intercooler even matched up with the Honda mounts.
The thinking is that as well as the Volvo unit being lighter, it produces its max torque as low as 2500rpm unlike the
Honda unit that likes to rev like a nutter. It was not a deliberate choice, just a case of what he had kicking about.
Its not a serious build as such, just a bit of fun in his spare time. When its finished I will have a drive and report back
with dyno figures etc if people are interested.

Nice, can't believe everything all matched up. Must have been an enjoyable build.
That is a nice torque output, the Honda F20 units definitely struggle with torque at that low RPM, he may have some stability issues though but sounds like it will be a beast
