    Honda have issued the following TSB #SO-08-013-00 dated 05-01-2015 for the following Civic 5 Door models MY04* EU7, EU8, EU9 & EV1.

    Background
A manufacturing error can produce over-pressurization of the driver's (front) airbag inflator during airbag deployment. If an affected airbag deploys, the increased internal pressure may cause the inflator casing to rupture. Metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, possibly causing an injury or fatality to vehicle occupants.

    Cause
Due to inappropriate manufacturing and storage condition of the propellant which was used for the driver's airbag inflator, some propellant absorbed moisture during production. This propellant may cause an abnormal pressure rise inside of inflator.

    Market Action
Honda UK will write to customers of affected cars requesting that they book their vehicle in to a Honda dealer and have a driver's airbag inflator kit installed. The dealer is then to return the original, undeployed inflator as directed.

Affected Range only for MY04* Model Year 2004 Please consult your local Honda dealer with your full 17 Digit VIN tag for conformation.
