    Hi

I've owned my 2010 2.2 SI CDTI for over a year now and to be fair haven't needed to change the brake pads. However, today on a 40 minute journey a high pitched screeching sound started to come from the passenger rear tyre. Not really sure what this could be other than maybe I need new brake pads. My fiancé was driving at the time (thank god!) and it seemed to go with braking but would soon come back.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Steph

These pads have an integral noise-generating wear indicator. It is likely that pads are worn, but it makes sense to check it out before splashing out.

As Zeb says, check your pads - whats the mileage of your car?

Thanks both. The mileage of my car is 71,000. My fiancé has jacked the car up and has come to the conclusion that it is the brake pad. He's hoping to fit this himself.
