It's an interesting idea but I'm not sure how popular it will be in the UK. I think people would much rather prefer to use an app linked to a debit or credit card than PayPal.

I've heard similar trials were done in Germany recently with Volkswagen I think it was. Not sure if that was with PayPal though.

Sounds like a good idea, I'm not a fan of PayPal but I'd rather associate PayPal with an app than my bank or credit card details (cc protection won't apply due to value of transaction).

I almost never fill up when my son is in the car as i don't want to leave him less than a metre from a fuel pump and it can be a hassle getting him in and out also if in a rush so this would be handy. I'm sure I've seen pumps where you can pay using your card on the actual pump, could be wrong though.

I wonder if phone thefts would increase?

Yeah a lot of pumps have pay by card options, common in supermarkets, I've seen it at the odd Shell garage too.

    Agreed
