    HI all

First timer so looking forward to the group

My wife's FR-V (2008 2.0 Petrol) has a sheared wheel bolt, it's the type that slot on the rear of the hub.

It needs replacing as MOT is looming and I wondered if anyone has tackled this before and can provide any pointers. I'm very mechanically minded, but I have a niggling feeling that the bearing needs removed and a press is required, hope not though

    any advice appreciated

    cheers

I would recommend the garage for you as you will need to buy tools and if you skill not up to it then pointless tackling it.

None lol, the brakes bound on and the heat expanded the bolt and it completely sheared. There was rust on the caliper pot (looks like its chrome plated), I cleaned up the pot using foil (I'm actually a metallurgist, this works really well) and it's great now. It was blody freezing at the time so just got it back on the road

NB: This hub has the studs built in to it from the rear and nuts to hold on the wheel

    Hi mate ,
Take the caliper off take the disc off, take the central hub nut off then get the bearing hub off and press out the broken stud.

You cab get item 20 as spare part 9011-3S5-H005 BOLT, WHEEL (SAGA) retails for 6 quid.
