For Christmas I ordered an iPad Pro for Helen and I wanted to get her the UK qwerty spec keyboard along with it . Apple don't yet make UK layout one but Logitech does, so on Amazon I pre-ordered it and gift wrapped in the first week of December.

So come today Helen opens it and is very impressed and happy with both of them until I have a proper look and find a damn yank keyboard! :disagree::Rant:

I was livid I pre ordered this first week of December and since it was gift wrapped I could not check it till today. That is me done with Amazon never liked them and I will be requesting my prime cancellation. :What:

The internet sales are becoming a joke really.
Jerry my woofer needs special Renal food which is fairly expensive around £60 a time, it normally takes a day to arrive.
Last month I found a special offer on a site @£48 initial discount so like all good. Bargain hunters I took up the offer paid extra for 2-3 day delivery as he was getting a bit low.
2-3 days passed his supply was getting down to like 1 days worth so I contacted the company to be told "it's been despatched today"Not happy I said it should have been here today not just coming out of your warehouse in Nottingham.
To which she replied it's not coming from Nottingham it's coming from Germany??? WTF!!! And I can't tell you how long it will take the courier we use is sometimes not very reliable......agggghhhhhhhhhhhh...
I demanded a refund and the order to be cancelled oh that's okay can we have your address to send the cheque to???
It will take two weeks to process?
Excuse me I paid by PayPal so I want my refund paid back into PayPal and like TODAY...
    I can't do that
Well put onto someone who bloody well can....
After numerous I can't do that and I'll put you through to someone else I managed to get to the accounts manager who actually was the only English person I spoke to after explaining myself again and telling her you can refund straight back to PayPal she said oh I don't know that!!! God why do these people set up and run companies.

Anyway the money was refunded within 5 minutes and I managed to reorder the food through a good old English company and it arrived in time next day.

And just to say some of the people I spoke to who were German muttered a lot down the phone to me in their native language thinking I was a stupid Englihman ( as one said) only problem was I have spent almost 20 years of my life in your country and Ich spreche deutsch!!! A bit of a shock for them.

    hi micky
    seasonal greetings
unfortunately the internet is the way of the times and i fear theres a lot worse to come
the amazon i wouldn't even dip my toes into let alone float my boat ,its a mish mash of confusion and greed
i use ebay and have done for the last six years in which time I've had two issuse which were quickly and proffesionally delt with by ebay with a 110% satisfaction
i have always research all sellers i use on ebay which only takes a little time to find the roots of their business their feed back being my first port of call
the only other internet transactions i do is in specialist fields which i have a working knowledge and most of these companies are old school and have been forced into using the internet to save their falling sales
we are all guilty of being lazy and encouraging the use of internet for micky mouse companies to offer us in to many cases sub standard services
we are fast becoming a nation of couch potato,s
so we can only blame ourselves for letting this happen .....support your local businesses and high street shops !!!!

I must admit I normally use online shopping at Christmas but this year I joined all the queues for shopping.
One of the reasons is I was getting lots of scam emails over the festive season.
These scammers are scum in my book and lots of people will be caught out by this.
The number of emails Iv had from my bank/PayPal and even tesco asking to log into your account as there was strange activity.

@Ichiban I had a quick look at the link and it's definitely kinda deceptive.... but here's a few things to check out for in future.... The item is listed as a UK QWERTY but if you look at the image in zoom, you can see it's actually a US LAYOUT.

As for Amazon themselves... they do get stuff wrong but in all my years of dealing with them, they have always, and I do mean always been very quick to put things right. I've had items refunded before I've even returned them so I can order a replacement quicker, I've had items arrive quickly but missing something, and they've sent it out again... only for the missing item to arrive a few days later along with the replacement... and they've just said keep it. Their customer services in my book has been above and beyond... which is very rare to find these days.

Caveat Emptor as they say (Buyer Beware), it pays to research a product a little in advance and I never buy anything technology based pre-wrapped because I like to check and if possible test items before giving them as gifts.

^ Agree, Amazon by far are the best etailer in terms of service, always has been above and beyond others, i've had things that gone missing or misdelivered, Amazon have always sent replacement no questions asked, returning stuff is a breeze they seem to refund you straight away when the barcode is scanned at post office, anything that goes wrong they tend to rectify.

As with anything there is nothing perfect so mistakes are to be expected, it's how they rectify and handle the mistake that is important to me, some companies are complete turds, others will go out to help.
