Just shows how rotten the motor industry and how 95% of garages are total monkeys and rip off merchants, this has been doing the rounds on the interweb. A Subaru owner takes his car into a Subaru 'specialist' to have a brake issue solved, they charged £200 for a bloody brake fluid brush which doesn't solve the issue, and during the process somewhere whilst testing driving, they hammer the car and deliberately drive it over massive potholes at speed trying to damage the car, which they do and damage the bumper.

All was caught on dashcam of the car:

To make things worse the owners denied any wrongdoing and started attacking the customer.

So yeh just be careful to whom you take your car too and trust someone else with your property. A 'specialist' doesn't mean someone who knows what there doing or someone to be trusted, it's just an overused word!

Yeh they have their fair share of fans backing them up, but they got a massive negative press and will be losing a lot of customers I reckon, but people tend to have short memories so will probably take their cars back to them in the future...

This has been massive on Facebook past couple of days, what's probably worse is the way the company has handled it all.

The barn shed lol I thought they were driving into some grotty horse manure farm! Shows how much pride and professionalism they take in their business and work.

Things like this put doubts in

A bad experience, but I think its all blown out of proportion. Crap happens even in a shiney glass and chrome main agent. An apprentice was sent out to get the staffs lunch in my dads car which was in for its first service, he of course managed to crash it !
Independents are essential for people like me who drive on a shoestring and can't afford London labour rates of £120 per hour plus. My independent charges me £50 inc. Quite a difference.

Lots of dodgy dealers out there no doubt, but this wasn't a simple bad expirience, this was pretty damn bad, whats worse is the attitude of the owner and garage, mistakes happen, but there seems to be an attitude issue here, who would take their cars to someone who not only treats a customers car like a dog, but treats the customer in contempt and to top it off rips them off and refuses to acknowledge wrongdoing, I don't think even the worst of dealers would charge £200 for a brake fluid flush and solve the issue!

It's things like this thats puts me off using garages, heck even changing cars as I hate the thought of buying another car that has issues and having to use a dreaded grease monkey.

I'd like to think though the reputable Honda specialist are not like this from what I have seen of them.

Don't get me wrong your right it was VERY badly handled, I have looked at owning a Scooby so know racing/rally parts ain't cheap. I could and would expect to pay around £100 for 3/4 litres of specialist fluid and an hours labour its high to us but not crazy.
As many say they have many loyal customers so that tells me something.
PS the main dealer who trashed dads new car is still going strong.
This inter web is a powerful tool for good and bad reasons.

That is pretty shocking. I can't believe what i saw.
Quite shocked as to how this has spread so fast, just shows how powerful social media and the web is nowadays.

I have read many comments about this and alot of people say that the business shouldn't be blamed but i think the owner of the business has alot to answer too. He is responsible for hiring highly trained professional skilled technicians. This is meant to be a professional specialist tuning garage who you will trust to take you pride and joy too. Nobody should act like that.

In my opinion the garage deserves everything it gets and maybe the owner may learn something from it but i think the writing is already on the wall for scooby clinic. I know a few friends with Subaru's and they have already said they will not go back there.

    What a wankers.
Both driver and a owner for defending him.
Treating other people property like that is really bad.
Hope people stay away from those wankers in the future.

@Zebster could take his Accord there to fit new compliance bushes, might get a good deal as they'l' be short of work. They could lane-test test his suspension afterwards, "tram-lined into pot-holes"

Its I'm afraid mainly down to technology and progress, I must admit to you all I'm just as quilt of stupid acts myself. One example was I was caught doing WELL over the speed limit ( by at least 40 mph } in a customers NSX the more than friendly copper thanked me for stopping as he said I didn't stand a chance of catching you sir ! After he had admired the car, sat in it, revved it a few times he wished me a pleasant day and after only a minor b#&$oking sent me on my way. Phew !
I'm afraid that was normal practice when any hot car came in. They would even tell the customer sorry its not ready yet so they ( we ) could smoke around in it for the weekend.
