Just had my car back from a small bang by some idiot when I was parked up.
I trusted my insurance with there approved body shop fool me.
After a week the bumper was popping out at the top so took it back.
They said it's now sorted but a few days later the same happened.
So I decided to look myself and was shocked what I found.
The garage said they replaced the bumper for new and have I writing from insurance of this.
Take a look at the split on the clip and also the overspray

Yep is shocking mate and the woman in there reception is still saying it was a new bumper
Iv checked under the bumper and all the edges are have high areas of paint.
Correct me if I'm wrong but a bumper from Honda comes already sprayed and no high spots on edges.

Simple Brett go back to your insurance and tell them that you are not happy with the repair and give them the evidence photographs. Also they should get an invoice from the repairer which should show the costing and purchasing of this so called NEW bumper from Honda(if that is where they got it from) tell them you want the car repaired at an approved Honda dealership/repairer.
The ball is then firmly in their court the car has to be repaired to an acceptable standard and it clearly is not.
A similar thing happened to my daughter a couple of years back and she had the car back to the repairer about 4 or 5 times till it was right and to her approved standard. They have to do it that's why you pay them.

Sorry to hear this Brett. Typical bloody insurance companies always wanting to charge an arm and a leg for cover but not spend much when you use the service you are paying for after all.

Yes new bumpers come from Honda already painted. I know this for a fact as I had a minor stress fracture repaired on my rear bumper. It was so minor Honda said painting it was the best option in my case.

The White Orchid bumpers are particularly difficult to match so they usually have to re-spray them anyway just to get the white to match the car better. (White is a nightmare to match plastics to the metal of the car body)

Other colours should be ok just ordering the appropriate colour new bumper.

Time to rattle their cages! :goodluck:

    Thanks John for your info.
I'm thinking I might be opening a can of worms with this repair garage.
I'm thinking there at fault as there charging my insurance company for goods that they haven't fitted.
Tomorrow I'm going to take the other side of the bumper off and compair paintwork finishes on the holding clips as I'm sure they should be lovely and smooth.
The wife said they might be buying parts in to prove the invoices and then selling them on cheap.
Only time will tell and will get as much evidence to name and shame.

    No problem Brett.

There are all sorts of fiddles going on. It annoys me how some body shops always ask if the repair is private or insurance before they give you an estimate. Now I wonder why that is?...... :cockywhistle:

The price should be the same regardless of how the work is being funded.

I wouldn't worry about opening a can of worms. If they're not up to anything dodgy then they have nothing to hide or worry about do they?

If they are up to something dodgy then they ask for all they get.

    That is appalling!
I wouldn't want to take it back to them. They had their chance and chose to take the fraudulent route.
That needs to go to a Honda Approved Repairer. The insurance co. can sort out the payments and get the money back from the first place. After all, they sent you there.

Bet bet they've had to use a bit of force to get the other side in and that's what's broken the recess for the clip.

If they are going to reuse it that's the job they should charge for.

Surely they are motorists as well so do they not realise scamming (if that is what they are doing) is just putting their own insurance up as well?
