I am facing very strange tyre wear issue on Accord Tourer 2011 rear axle tyres. Tyre has bad wear on inside and strange bumpy wear all around tyre. Pressure is according to book (I am using nitrogen gas)
My dealer told me that problem “weak spring” causing tracking misalignment. Tracking was done September, last year and even then serviceman was unable to line up rear axle 100%.
ADJUSTABLE REAR SUSPENSION CAMBER TOE/TIE ARM ROD needed to fix this problem- I was told. Since Honda don’t provide upgrade springs or adjustable rods I need help from you, guys.
Do you have similar problem? Where to find stronger springs and adjustable rods? Please send dealer website, if available in UK.

As you can see it well made and the bushes are superb quality despite being made in China. So on the looks department it passes with flying colour now to fit and review them after a year.

I've got a similar issue with my CR-V where the thrust angle can't be made spot on. Fortunately it is so able to be adjusted enough to prevent tyre wear but the engineer suspected something has bent very slightly, perhaps from kerb mounting. Can't imagine springs failing so quickly?

Graham its the lack of adjust ability on the rear camber which is the root cause not springs.

So does that mean the alignment can't be correct when straight out the factory?

yes all Honda rear alignment geometry have their cambers out spec slightly and as the car gets older you can't counteract it with toe corrections alone.

Why do they not design it to be right?

    Thank you Ichiban!
Answer was as I expected. Now I will look for parts and fix my car.
For ArcticFire- CR-V has new type Honda original (so called upgrade) springs available. My dealer knows about similar problems on CR-V and this spring replacement will fix your problem- as they say. This is not available for Accord tough.
Honda knows about problem but they do not care about it, even I was screaming while warranty was still valid.

My 7th Generation accord had a tracking issue dealer said the rear wheel tracking should ever be done with new tyres.
The story is i had to replace a front which was done at normal tyre shop both were replaced had the tracking done at the same time, they asked do you want the rear checked at same time only £5 more they need adjustment, ok I said.
6 weeks later cleaning the wheel arches I noticed the inner edge was kojak'ed (see photos) at the time a rang the dealer to see if they had any tyres in stock and yes they did, drove there got them changed, they then said about the tracking should only be done with new tyres

That's correct as once a tyres start to wear unevenly, they will continue to do so.
