My Bluetooth has failed and the dealer has advised that this is part of the sat nav/voice recognition system and will cost around £800 for a new system. Anyone any ideas.

    Many thanks

Can the unit be removed and sent away to the original manufacturer for repair instead?

I have not been given this option and I wouldn't know how to remove it.

Take a look on Ebay, I see there are people who offer stereo repairs for the FR-V unit so may be able to do something for you.

Usually its just a case of removing some of the dash trim to allow access to bolts or screws and then it's normally just block connectors which can be unplugged and then pull the unit out.

    Anyone else?

Thanks, do you know where on the dash this is located?

If you look up lings honda parts it may show a diagram of the dash and system and where the clips and bolts are located.

Has it failed or is it something to do with iOS 8 compatibility issues
Google ' Cause of Bluetooth in car failure '

Might be useful or not but worth a quick read

Hi Andy the HFT is normally for the Legend a lot expensive than £800

The part number is 39770-SJA-E02 HFT UNIT (BLUETOOTH) with a retail of £1,752.14 , so you better ask how they have quoted so low is that a repair or a new kit, if so they are discounting that part a lot!!

Don't know if you've moved on this yet, but I'm always suspicious when the dealer goes for the easy option of part replacement. According to acurazine where they have far more of these vehicles which are very similar in most regards. Apparently it is very rare for the Bluetooth unit to fail, but not unheard of. One poster solved his issue by accessing the unit by removing the glovebox and unplugging the unit and plugging it back in again. Just wondered if your dealer explored beyond reading the codes?

I've also read of owners removing HFT unit and giving it' s circuit board a clean with a very soft bristle brush and very light compressed air on its circuit board (rather like cleaning a computer motherboard ) and then reinstalling it to find it works .

Why not make new topic about bluetooth issues? Might get more answers if you make "Bluetooth topic".
How it is not working? can't connect at all? Not streaming audio? (it won't without aftermarket "interface" Honda or grom audio)
Be sure that your car is parked when trying to make settings/connction.
