Why does it have to rain I'm in the middle of retro fitting roof bars to the other halves Mini I've had to drop the head lining and so far got one fitted and now it's throwing it down :Frown: Only need to drill 5 more holes!

I know how you feel Dave.
I was changing rear discs and pads today and it started raining but it did not stop me.
Lot of swearing, blow torching, drilling and hammer banging but got there in the end:Rant:

I was close to throwing the towel in but then thought I'll just try this and it worked.

Now you've changed them, it will be easy to do an annual service to ensure they're in tip-top condition. :mechanic:

I like to do this during the late summer/autumn, before it gets too cold or we go back to GMT.

Dave did you protect the drilled holes with paint ? If I were you I would as water will enter and corrosion will set below the paint.

Yes I painted the bare metal and got plenty of sealant around them too to prevent any water getting into the car it passed a water test before I put headlining back in luckily
