Hello, and Hi to you all.
I am new to Honda ownership and have a question about engine oil.
My car (2007 2.2 diesel I-CDTI) seemed to have 0W-30 engine oil in it when I bought it. I just went for an oil, change as advised and the garage have put 5W-30s in it.
I am concerned as I have heard that the wrong oil can cause problems in these engines as they have things like hydraulic lifters for the timing chain. SHould I return to the garage?
    Thanks in advance.
    Toto.

Its meant to be 0w-30, but a fully synthetic 5w-30 will be fine unless you plan to use the car somewhere with seriously sub-zero temperatures. I can't imagine how this could affect the hydraulic chain tensioners.

I would be annoyed with the garage for not using the recommended oil and substituting a cheaper alternative. But there's plenty of reports that Honda dealers also do this...

Thank you both very much. I will call the garage and ask the question, but I am reassured now.
