To set the ball rolling I was returning from a few days holiday in Scotland yesterday and was pondering which way to go, heading south from Edinburgh to Yorkshire. No contest though - it has to be the A68 down to Corbridge. For me this road has everything to make a drive enjoyable, superb scenery, small villages and towns, long straight stretches and hardly any other vehicles. The final stretch to Corbridge is quite exciting with switchback stretches on long straight sections. I cannot think of any other road which is more of a pleasure to drive on.
