General what oil should be used in a honda accord 2.4

    Been putting castrol magnertec 10/40w since new,went on castrols webb site and giving me new choice which is castrol edge 0/30w can any body help mick

    There is a thread on this in the 7th section somewhere, I put 0W/30 in mine yesterday.

    Some people swear by 10w-40, others 5w-40. The general consensus is that there's no need to go that thick for the petrol engines at all.

    I personally run mine on 0w-20 as now recommended by Honda and the improvements are extremely noticeable, smoother power delivery, quieter engine, improved economy. I've also ran Castrol Edge 0w-30 in the past, and 5w-40 Comma X-Flow.

    The K20/K24s are not fussy engines when it comes to oil, but you will notice subtle differences between the performance and economy on each one.
