I'm new and would like to get to know people on here so I thought id start by asking what was everyone's first cars?

Going to regret saying this but mine was a 1999 1.1 Citreon Saxo, bought it when I was 16 as I couldn't wait to have a car. Didn't really know much about them, learnt a fair bit about mechanics whilst owning it, learnt how to change a head gasket which was fairly easy as it was SOHC. Learnt how to do a basic service on a car and various other maintenance jobs.

So what was your first car?

Mine was a clapped out 2nd Generation Cortina which did about 8 miles to the gallon. I was very naive when i bought that, just passed my test and couldn`t wait to get behind the wheel. I sold it to a backstreet garage after about 18 months who complained to me they were only getting 4 miles to the gallon so it was promptly scrapped

Sounded like it was very cheap to run then.

Are they the little convertible things? I'm going to assume you were being sarcastic when you said it was fast haha Has your life been filled with all things Honda?

That's pretty good for a first car, these days you couldn't insure anything like that as your first car. Did you wrap it round the tree?

Honda Beat, thats going back a bit!

My first car was a Talbot Horizon it was free so I couldn't complain.

    Then I had the following:

    Cavalier 2nd Generation 1.8 SRI
    Astra GTE 2.0
Cavalier 2nd Generation.0 SRI that then got a 2.0 16V Redtop stuck in it plus re-sprayed in Nova SRI blue and load more bits done to it lol
    Carlton GSI 3000 24V
    Rover Metro 1.1c
    Rover 214 SI
    Cavalier 4x4 Turbo
    Fiesta 1.4 SI
    Honda Civic VTI-S 5 door
    Accord I-CTDI

The Carlton to the Metro was a right old come down lol but that 3 litre monster ate all my money + headgasket and timing chains werent cheap (good old quality Vauxhalls!!!) In defence of the Metro I think thats the car I had the most fun in just used to thrash it everywhere it was great fun too drive.

Did it have the Econometer lights in the dash? A friend had a Meastro with that. I did nearly buy a Montego Turbo in British Racing Green, that was a quick car.

It had a computer that was quite advanced for its time...don't remember worrying about economy though so that must have come after.

Ah right, where did you move from if you don't mind me asking?

They had a whole 63bhp! Limited to 84mph, however mid-engined rear wheel drive. Were they any fun in the wet or was it just so gutless? So your life has been filled with all things Japanese

My first Japanese vehicle was a Honda C90 "scooter".

It did 50 m.p.h. flat out with my chin down on the speedo, but it felt like 200!

Good times, I had a scooter when I was 16. Funnily enough it was French just like my first car, spent a ridiculous amount of money to make it go 50. At the time it was fun, now I hate them.

First car was a Ford Escort 1.3 XL - M reg (when the year letter was at the end of the registration !) Then I had a Vauxhall Cavalier (V reg - again at the end of the reg!) after that done company cars - Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia (A reg) which was nice and fast:Wink: Can't remember the others - Cavalier, couple of Orions and then an M reg Civic coupe auto, 6th Generation (N reg so not sure if 6th Generation?) Accord coupe auto, late 6th (X reg) Accord coupe auto and then my current 57 plate 7th Generation Accord EX auto!

Must say I can't imagine having anything other than an Accord now!
