I was looking at this eBay item and was thinking of making a guy an offer of £200 on them and see what price we can haggle on.

Would they be Ok for my car? I really like the colour of the rims, which should really suit the colour of my car I think.

They'll fit perfectly mate, not the original tyre size mind. They should be 205/40/17, the reason they're probably on 215/40/17 is because they tend to be cheaper.

Your Type-S is 205/55/16 right? Your speedo will be out by about 6% as it stands, you can always fix this when you next change tyres.

    Thanks.

Yeah, I think mine are 205/55/16. When you say my speedo will be out by 6%, do you mean speedo will be faster or slower than actual speed ? Also, if I get the 205/40/17 tyres. will that sort the speedo ?

Also, how much do you think I should offer the guy? £250 ?

Just used a calculator properly, it's 4.79% - it will read faster than you're going, which I guess is the best side of be on.

Here's how the current tyres on the EP3 rims compare to your Type-S:

    CurrentNew
    Diameter631.9mm603mm
    Circumference1985.2mm1894.4mm
    Poke27.6mm33.9mm
    Inset137.6mm143.9mm
    Speedo error 0%4.79%
    Reading at 30mph 30mph31.44mph
    Reading at 60mph 60mph62.88mph
    Ride height gain 0mm-14.45mm
    Arch gap loss 0mm-14.45mm

    wheelimage.php.

To get it perfect you'd want 225/45/17 tyres on them (that's 0.38% out which is nothing), but they'd look chunkier (like stock 7th Generation Accord wheels look).

I'd personally offer £225 collected, though he may want to run the auction to the end.

Damn man, well there's tons of EP3 alloys out there. Let me ask a friend, one sec.

He's just sold his last set, but he breaks a lot of EP3s so if he has any more I'll let you know.

Looking to buy EP3 rims for my own Type-S.
Have looked at quite a few sets on eBay.
Most have tyres on em which are either done or just crap

Just made an offer on these. Told him I'll collect and pay cash (so he don't have to pay eBay commission).

Look a decent set for sure
    Good luck with bid
Being able to collect is cool; unfortunately most sets on eBay are on the mainland and I'm getting hit on postage fees which is understandable but certain sellers are taking the piss

Cool, the guy accepted my bid. I think offering to collect and pay cash sweetened the deal for him. Asking price was £325, and I'm giving him £250, as long as they are in the same condition as indicated in the pictures on eBay

Just collected them. They even fitted them for me

All 4 tyres seem fine (ad on ebay says one is on limit, but not that I can see), but I'm just getting them checked and balanced, just to be safe.

I've got her booked in tomorrow for a full new set of tyres, and it seems the best I can get at mid range prices, with a semi decent Noise / Wet driving / Efficiency rating are these Pirelli Cinturato P7's.

Anyone used them before / know anything about them ?

So the guy who bought my old wheels on eBay just came to pick them up, in an '04 Type-R the exact same colour as mine  It used to be his sons, but it was written off by insurance company for an accident caused by a third party (purely body damage on the driver's side), and he is now repairing it. It's only done 80k miles, and looks in great condition. Not sure why he wants my 16 inch wheels when he has some 17 inch wheels on there currently (not the standard Type-R wheels).

It was a little weird to see the 2 cars sitting nose to nose, but it gave me a little while to compare them, and to be perfectly honest, I think I prefer the 5 door to the 3 door.
