Was browsing through headlight bulbs for my Uncles car and came across bulbs that are yellow so I thought those might look cool on my car, I already have yellow tinted foglights (JDM look y0) and I like warm yellow illumination they output. So thought they might look cool on the dipped beams.

So during daytime they would make the headlight area yellow and when of course illuminate yellow.

    Some examples pics:

    og-lights-3000k-yellow-hid-bulbs-h1-h3-h7-h10-h11-9006-9004-880-bright-yellow-fog-lights-install.

Would they look naff? They look nice on that golf, but the golf has nice circular light tunnels, mine are more rectangular, might make the car look really old!

Saw someone driving around with yellow headlights the other night at work, they look really bad in my opinion.

I personally cannot stand them at all, but there is a science behind it and apparently you see best at night with yellow lights - go figure.

Yeh the yellow light is meant to break through better and something to do with reflections or something. I had a think about it yesterday and decided against it as I think it would make my car look really dated, if I come across some really cheap bulbs then I may buy some just to try it out.

    Thanks for the feedback.

@Ichiban I will do that next time man, cheers.

if you want yellow headlights, try just getting those really cheap headlight bulbs for a pound, they are so rubbish, they might as well be yellow, but to be honest when it comes to yellow bulbs, it would make the car look older than it is, especially yellow, as thats the same colour as the headlights go when they get old.

I think it would look good on the right car, like on the Golf posted above or even the cb3 Accord with its sharp diamond headlamps, but the 6th Generation headlamps are too big and it'll just stick out like sore thumb.

Yellow headlights remind me of French cars.
Are they actually legal for MOT?
I have seen a number of Taxis with them fitted and they are horrible I hate them with a passion.

Well I guess thats a consensus then. :judge: I'm pretty sure they are legit, yellow is the only colour allowed.

I hope my yellow JDM y0 fog lights don't get a nay :poke:

Yellow and orange JDM headlights are a big win for me on the right colour cars, particularly black and grey - yellow works on yours for sure

I always thought the whiter the colour temp the better the visibility because you are supposed to have better colour rendition?

^^ I actually quite like them, for what it's worth :Fear:

I think it's because when I was at school in the 1970s the really cool parents had painted their headlights yellow for adventurous trips to France...funny how things change!

One particular boy had parents with a Peugeot 504 estate (Automatique!) with yellow lights and a GB sticker, and I just thought it was the coolest thing
