    The 1.6 I-DTEC is the first engine to be launched in Europe under Honda’s flagship Earth Dreams Technology and the second vehicle to receive this engine after the Civic.

    The CR-V 1.6 I-DTEC will be offered in S, SE and SR variants. All variants come with a 6 speed manual gearbox, 2 wheel drive as standard and offer the following benefits:

    Emissions from as low as 119 g/km and fuel economy up to 62.8 mpg on the combined cycle

    BIK aka Benefit in Kind from as low as 18%

    £0 road fund licence in the first year, then as low as £30 a year thereafter [based on 2013/14 government VED rates]

    SUV practicality with agile, car like handling due ti lighter weight.

    DAB digital audio now standard across the CR-V range [2014 year model only]

    Order have started since the 15th of August with full time production to start at Swindon in September with the official Launch date as the 19th of October.

    Not sure I agree with the pricing being "competitive" - especially when I get that MPG on the heavier, more useable proper 4x4 2.2 engine....sigh! :Blink:

    It's not competitive at all in my eyes it's the same with the Civics. You cannot get the 2.2 on the 9th Generation Civic will the CR-V go the same route ?

    It may well do, but with the 2.2 still selling, and having the top EX trim over the 1.6 which only goes to the SR trim, I wouldn't worry just yet. In any case, I am glad I opted for the bigger, proper engined CR-V.
