Honda has release TSB # SN-10-007-00 dated 12-04-13 outlining a few 2013 CR-V with the above symptoms and the repair method. The affected models are ModelModel CodeYear ModelCR-VRE5, RE72013CR-V I-DTECRE62013 The Symptom The ignition key cannot be folded or unfolded when trying to operate. The Cause The blade retaining Roll pin fixing the key blade to the rotor becomes loose and displaced during normal folding and unfolding operation. The displaced pin then interferes with the outer casing, preventing the key from folding or unfolding. This is likely to happen the more the key is used. The Fix The key blade roll pin has been changed from a single coil type (A) to a double coil type (B). This change has meant there is an increased retention force which prevents the retaining pin moving out of position. Owners are instructed if you have this issue with Driver 1 key you should take the secondary key Driver 2 to the dealership. Ensuring repair on both remote units at the same time so you avoid a second visit to the dealership. The countermeasure of this TSB has been applied to all of these chassis subsequently.
