    Hi

My late 2007 Tourer Exec, 2.4 Auto - Petrol , does not appear to have had it’s fluid changed, ever.

    It’s done nearly 60k miles.

Is it a case of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” or should I get it replace ASAP?

My one and only Honda garage has never advised changing it in the last 5.5 years since I bought the car.

As far as I know it is working properly.

    Please advise!

    Many thanks

Hello mate I would advise on changing the Fluid for sure, is 60k the total miles the car has done since new...

ATF change is at 75k or 8 years (whichever is first) and then every 50k/4 years.
If you're on the original fluid, it is way overdue.

2 fluid changes is a good idea because of the TC.

mate all fluids degrade over time and it would be safer to change it that way than use a flush machine, also i'd not advise doing how some do it with ATF pipe off like some do on youtube with engine running, please don't get dexron..
    Thanks
    Andy

Bit beyond me to do it, I'll get my local one and only Honda dealer to do it, only thing that worries me it they said they will flush it when I take it in a couple of weeks.
I ask them to do 2 or 3 changes rather than flush it, but who knows what they will do when they get it.........................
    Many thanks

hello mate can you do a basic oil change on your car, if so you would manage this or even get the stuff and get a garage to do it...

    Umm, not really.

But I’ll ask a couple of local taxi drivers who have Accord tourers to see who does there services-may or may not be a good idea!

Hmm, I have to admit I think they will do the bare minimum and try to make the most money out of this job or any job for that matter.

I’m going to try and find a reputable local garage (btw I’m not saying the local Honda place is bad!) and hope they do as you suggest.

    Many thanks

Yup, getting the correct Honda parts/fluid is not an issue.

Finding a good non franchise garage is, I’ll make some inquiries!

    Many thanks

A friend of mine test-drove a taxi Honda Accord 2.4, automatic, 7th generation.
It had 250,000 on the clock. Said it still drove like it was new. These cars are bullet-proof if serviced regularly.
