    Hi Folks

    I have just ordered a 2004 Elysion 3l V6 (J30A). It's the VX version.
It's still waiting to be shipped from Japan.
I thought I would get ready for it in advance.

Firstly can anyone reccomed where I get my servicing parts from?
Things I mean are timing belt kit and filters.

Also the rear fog light issue. Rather than have an ugly bolt on thing to the bumper does anyone have a link to replacements for the rear reflectors?

What are people's thoughts of speedo conversion?
I'm inclined to go for replacing the dial face as opposed to the electronic alternative. (I know I don't have to change the speedo but I can't be bothered trying to do the maths each time I pass a speed camera).

Last and probably the biggest ask is that on this model the navi screen is not functioning so the plan is to tackle the stereo issue head on.
Has anyone located the speaker wires, antennas and the rear camera feed in the jumble behind the dash?

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

    Congratulations on your order!

Have you tried searching the site for any of these things?

I have but there doesn't seem to be a conclusion to some of them.
    Namely the navi system.
Elysions seem to be a bit of an enigma. Parts wise I suspect that suspension and brakes etc are from an Accord of the same age but I might be wrong. (Early 00s 3l Accord with a J30a engine)
I have read threads but the majority speak of OEM parts and getting them shipped from Japan.

Or are you asking if I felt that posting a thread was necessary?

Not at all. It is a valid thread.

We shall have to see what the other Elysion owners respond to the questions posed.

If ever in doubt, just ask or tag one of the staff team.
We're not here to beat folk up. HK is all about helping fellow Honda owners.

Although I don't own an Elysion I can offer some of my experience owning a JDM Honda.

As Andy points out that parts catalog comes in very handy. I've found that if you have a part number any Honda dealer should be able to help (although Holdcroft are the go to guys).

I had all of my ICE replaced by an audio specialist (double din head unit). Just try and find someone local who has good examples of their work.

The speedo conversion and fog light were done by the dealer who I purchased the car from. I believe the speedo was done by an electronic mechanic specialist, again maybe do a search for local specialists and make some calls.

I really don't like the placement of the rear fog on mine but it's a necessary part and something I've learned to live with.

All the best with the car

Wow thanks guys for all the great suggestions.
I've already ordered a new dial for the speedo and new spark plugs.
Just need to get filters for it.
It has 118000 km on the clock but I read somewhere the the timing belt needs changed at 90 -105k miles so I figure I can defer that task for a year or so.
It's not coming until October but I'm just getting prepared for it so that I can get it on the road ASAP.

Great that you can just replace the speedo dial to convert to mph, honestly didn't think of that :Niceone:

I read that installing the electronic box converter compromises the VTEC no matter where you put it in the system.
I've been looking at so many sites that I can't remember where I saw it and the exact detail. But it was something like you lost the VTEC in first gear and thus fuel efficiency. Hence going for the dial change.
I'm trying the maintain the fuel efficiency as much as possible so that it will come close to my CR-V but be super fun at the same time with the grunt there when you need it.

Not yet but it would appear that that water pump should be replaced at the same time.
The cost of a timing belt change seems to be going up which is why I'm trying to defer it for a little while.
I have a budget to get it on the road and usable as the family chariot.
So duty,VAT, registration, tax and getting through its MOT are all costs that I need to take into account.
Also I need a tow bar but that shouldn't be too onerous to get sorted.

    Cheers
