I'm looking at cleaning my EGR valve and have heard that one of the best things to soak it in is carb cleaner. But when I spoke to one of the technicians at my local mechanics he mentioned there was a specific product that could be used to clean it, designed to break down the carbon deposits that's available at most motor factors (except Halfords it seems). He even mentioned the chemical name for it, which I've forgotten. But the only ERG specific cleaning products I can find are aerosols you spray on and hope by some miracle it works. Anybody got any suggestions on EGR cleaning products, would I be better off with carb cleaner?
