Anybody know the official procedure for draining the fuel filter?
Rob do you mean how to drain the water within the fuel filter? do you want the process for the Bosch(preface lift) fuel filter or the Denso (facelift) fuel filter?
How to drain the water in the filter on the Denso facelift mate.
On the bottom of the diesel filter you have the water sensor wire in the middle you will find a nut unslacken it attach a suitable hose to drain the water out .
Then nip the bolt to 1 N.m don't overtighten the bolt, once done start the car up and see you don't get the water in\fuel filler warning on the multi display on the speedo.
Cheers CJ, can this be done from the top of the engine bay or is it better underneath.
Best from underneath with the splash guard off you can get to it easily.
Rob were you able to archive this?
CJ, not yet too blooming cold. Might do it this week, as it supposed to be warmer.let you know once done.
Know the feeling bud this weather can't remain like this forever.
What's the recommended interval for draining CJ?
I'd be interested in knowing if there is an interval, I'd of thought it'd only want draining if the light came on?
Nope there is no interval Dave, but on the facelift models the MID throws up a message with water in fuel warning.has anyone veer seen this display?
