Ej9 B18c1 swapped drag tips

    Hi, finally i finish the engine swap on my ej9, old engine d14a4, new engine b18c1 with full catback on 2.5" and short ram intake.

    Yesterday i drag my car vs a BMW 330ci e46 with kyn inyake system, headers, exhaust and stage 1 chip, and i lose, on the start he can take  1 or 2 cars of advantage.

    I know the bimmer is faster than my car but i see a lot of difference

    Im learning to drive fast this new engine, but i wheelspin a lot.

    Can you give me some tips??

    Don't dump the clutch and floor it. Get a good biting point, hold the car using the handbrake then release putting the power down gradually (sounds like a slow option but just find an industrial estate and go practice :Smile:

    As said, learn to modulate the throttle.


    In first, I wouldn't be using full throttle almost till gear change.

    thanks for your help, i buy a set of 15" inch wheels with tires toyo r888 for the front, so drag days i go with these tires, i can now launch 5000 - 5500 RPM
