Finally bought myself another Legend, much better than the Merc I had. I've had it now for a couple of weeks with no problems until today when for no reason the engine light on the dash came on. Apparently this is something to do with emissions, can anyone give me any advice please or do I have to take it to a dealer?

    Thanks in advance, Phil

You need to get the code read first Phil.

Get the code read using an OBD reader and post it up here, we can then try and advise you further.

Apologies for the delay getting back to you and thanks for replying. I pulled in a favour from my local Honda dealer and it turns out I confused the system by shifting from forward to reverse to quickly, I did have a gear indicator warning light flash up briefly before the engine light.
Anyway, they plugged it in and checked everything, then reset the system and all is ok now. Love the car, this is my third Legend, and I still have my old K reg in the garage, might think about moving that one on if anyone is interested.

Any photos of your K reg one? I have a Legend Owner's Club on Facebook if you search for it, there's quite a few of us on there now for general chat. Still good to use honda Karma for cataloguing findings and DIYs etc.

These cars are excellent, I have the dealer training book for them which is a lovely big 50 page thing printed on proper brochure paper. They state in there loosely quoted 'If Mercedes made a car like this then customers would be queuing up around the block to buy it, we need to make sure our customers know how great Legend is'. Very strange wording for an official Honda training product. I'll attach some photos of it at some point.

As you can see, with Legend and now Accord dead in the UK, Honda did a great job marketing its cars...or sadly it was just the public's obsession with diesels and German cars .

It's worldwide; they never properly leveraged SH-AWD not explained how to use it properly.

    Acura RLX sales are dismal.

Acura RLX sales are dismal for two simple reasons.

It's ugly and the interior is 10 years behind anything else.

Of course these are merely my opinion but you can't compare it to the competition as a result. Look at the interior next to an E Class for example, it's embarrassing.

I've said it before, it's unreal to think Acura came first and actually did well at the start. Lexus came after and now have just popped out the epic LC and the new LS looks another world away from any Acura.

True. Reports suggest the interior isn't up to that of the KB1, let alone moving with the market. And it looks like a Sprinter chassis-cowl before it's had a body built onto it.

But the eSH-AWD system is by all accounts brilliant.

Maybe the RWD-biased cars they scrapped in '08 might have been less of a joke.

The old KA-Leg Ends looked so elegant, but somehow were too bland (or was if the FWD, or the badge-snobbery?) which prevented them selling over here? They still did better than the KB1, IIRC!
