It's been a couple of months and way over 1,000 miles of driving for my Spike since I got it, so thought it time to top up the marvelous work done by Auto-Genie.

This box of goodies has just been dropped off at the office. Guess what I'll probably be doing at the weekend?

Heh! Well, not sure if I am going to be as meticulous as some of the people here, but it makes sense if you plan on keeping your vehicle for a while.

Let's see how addicted I get to the details though

Once you start, there's no turning back! :cleaning:

However, it is very satisfying keeping your Honda in the state she deserves. :gohonda:
(Well I think so, but then again I've got the OCD bug :zen:)

Don't forget, we want to see lots of pictures :Need Pics:

That's what I'm kinda afraid of. I am already a pain in insisting that the house stays tidy!

Definitely. What's the point in spending so much time getting the car you want only to watch it slowly degrade before your eyes?

There will be pictures. No matter how good or bad my first attempt goes. Will also show the kit I've bought to tackle my square bit of Honda loveliness with.

Diagnosis confirmed. You're well on the way to being just like the rest of us. :nodding:  :nodding:
There's no known cure, but the condition isn't fatal.

The car detailing virus was always there then, it only needed to be activated.

I just finished the 3-afternoons winter detailing of the Jazz.

Wow! I'm hoping to spend just a couple of hours.

The Spike was treated with protector when I had it detailed when she first landed in the country. I am just wanting to keep her clean and water beading uniformly.... oh gawd! It's started hasn't it? :Aghast:

I went out on Sunday morning to give the CR-V a very quick wash. I hadn't got time for anything else. Loads of important things to do...

...but it was a lovely day, and I remembered I had some new (Auto-Perfection) products to try that I got at Castle Combe.

    Five hours later...:excited:

It's the best kind of virus! One of my work colleagues remarked on my car looking 'even more white and shiny' on Monday morning, unprompted. My work was done.

I worry now that I only did one coat of wax on LoCo. Yet I'd not bothered with any at all on any previous cars :brickwall:

Heheheh! It's always nice when people notice. I've only given the Spike a rinse up until now and one of my workmates said how shiny Loocy looked under the streetlight

Up until now I'd give a car some shampoo and some Auto Glym. This time, I'm going to do the best I can

    Here's my cleaning kit.

Not going full detailing yet but this should get her looking nice.

    Microfibre cloths (10)
    Waffle towel
    Shampoo and conditioner
I got carried away by the wash mitt, I'll admit it.
    Detail spray
    Glass cleaner
Gonna grab a couple of buckets (shampoo/rinse) from the market/pound shop.

The wash mitt looks like a 'microfiber madness incredible wash mitt' and they are great!

Tip: wash all microfiber cloths, towels, mitt apart from other laundry and don't use fabric softener for the final rinse, but instead vinegar.

Top tip @jazzway! Thanks. The mitt is a Gtechniq WM2 Microfibre Wash Mitt. Decided to treat myself

I have the same grit guards in two 20 liter buckets, but the feet of the grit guards tend to fall off. After i lost one i have glued them! But wait before glueing until you have the buckets and you're sure they fit.
