Accord 03-08 [CN1]
This guide has been moved to our new Guides & DIY section.
I've had the sensors fitted now for around 8 months and they have worked flawlessly. Are they any better than the £15 ones from eBay? Well to be honest, no. I've had both on my past Accords and both work equally well.
Hope this guide helps someone and if you need any assistance let me know and i'll do what I can.
Brilliant how to guide Paul thanks for sharing it.
Awesome DIY, great result.
Very good DIY mate. I would do this but don't want to ruin the look of my plain rear bumper
On my first Accord I tried the wire type reverse sensors that stick to the inside of the bumper. They lasted for a few weeks before they stopped working so I replaced them with the traditional sensors and to be honest wouldn't use them again. Also the stick on type were considerably more expensive..they may have improved but I'd stick to what I know.
Nice write up Paul and great pics cheers
Pictures now uploaded onto the forum (except the last one as I've blanked out the number plate and didn't save it).
Bump to this thread as lot of rear sensor question have been asked and hopefully this thread can answer a few.
Awesome guide mate. Thanks for sharing it.
Unless i missed it, what sort of costs are involved?
I was suprised to learn that Honda don't fit these as standard.
I have same fitted to my Accord Tourer, I bought is used last November, they were fitted already.
Whoever fitted them did not bother to get them painted like you did, I think this is a shame and it makes the rear bumper look a bit umm "Naff" do you think it would be easy to remove the plastic covers & get them painted in silver?
Thanks in advance.
Great guide. Been considering fitting some for over 12months. I am sure even I could get this right based on this guide but confident that having the hole saw in my hand would make me consider and reconsider waaay too many times. Nervous would be an understatement.
Just take your time just don't rush that would be my advice, and if you get stuck just ask you won't be laughed at.
