Hi Qc2, nice guide. I have followed the guide while replacing my stereo but I am not sure if the connects2 unit I ordered was missing a part. I have highlighted the part I don't seem to have on the attached image. Can you help me out? Where do I find the highlighted part? Is it meant to come with the connects2 order?

hi that part is the patch lead. Mine is a connects2 universal one with a guide detailing which wires to cut/keep based on your head unit.

My patch lead came free but that isn't always the case. separately they're around £5

All, thanks for your help. I had ordered the patch leads and they are now installed and my wheel buttons are fully working. Thanks for the guide @qc2. The patch lead requirement could be added to the guide to help ppl like me who aren't pretty clued up in this matters.

Don't mean to bring up an old thread. Newbie here. Just got my first FR-V and trying to look through the guides (specifically this one) is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to view pictures in any of the guides?

You are unable to view picture is most threads as there is an ongoing issue with pictures at the present, hopefully this will be resolved soon as it is being looked at.

old thread but a very clear guide thank you.
I'm attempting this at the moment, however the green plug on mine is fully wired up, i.e has about 10 wires going in and there are 2 brown wires, it looks from your pics like you've used the 2 wires on the left of the plug, these are brown and orange on my green connector ( thought the brown one has orange dashes, whereas the other brown wire nearer to the middle of the plug is solid brown.
anyway, will be connecting up today and post some pics once done

    thanks for the guide

well it worked as per the guide, and i've now got the steering wheel controls connected to my new android head unit via the connects2 adapter. the head unit allows me to assign any function i like to the buttons so have them set up for volume+ & -, "channel select+" = skip back, &back button, "channel select -" = skip forwards and home screen , function button = play/pause and google voice input.

Hi James - I am about to do the same thing as you, and also have the green connector nearly fully wired. Have asked the dealer if they can supply a wiring diagram so we can see what the redundant 7 pins are.

Am also thinking of the below approach which would mean less soldering (I think!). It keeps the PC2-68-4 as the "main bit" and would just splice 3 wires into that. I *think* it should work, but my laziness has cost me dearly in the past! ^_^

having recently carried out the same install on another FR-V, i traced the remaining wires on the green connector to the factory aux input, missing on my car but present on the one i just done.
