I have had the faults read on my Accord 2.2 I-CDTI and it is coming up with Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low and Fuel Rail Pressure Lower Than Expected.

Can anyone help me with this on what i should be looking at next.

I've just had very similar, here's what I've learnt..

    1) Redex + Good Diesel (Shell VPower) is a good starter, give the engine/injectors a good clean.

    2) Is the Fuel Filter ready for a change? I put mine through a full service and its behaving now.

Fortunately I didn't have to find out what else it was going to be, but the alternative is that the Fuel Pump is on the way out.

However, I believe 'this' is quite a common fault with the Honda Diesel. For the Fuel Filter, try and make sure its the OEM Honda Filter as its not keen on generic brands.

Yes, also in the germ. Accordforum some i-ctdis have had this fault / problem (esp. in wintertime) --> A fuel filter change solved the problem :Bye:

would this affect the starting of the car as it starts first time everytime but takes a little to fire

have had problems with my 06 FR-V 2.2 ctdi not starting, starting with 4x injector changes, still no start, then new battery as the volts dropped under crank, still no start, no faults on computer and it started every time when plugged in, aaarrrggggh, went to lift car, it wouldn't start, yipppie im not mad, laptop plugged in and it flagged up low rail pressure 130bar cranked until 270 was reached and wahey she fired up, theres a switch on the fuel pump that controls the pressure and mines faulty bout £100 +fitting and so I hope this time that's it.

Have the same problem ,Fuel Rail - System pressure low but only when temperature falls below 5 degrees..
Car starts first turn every time but after about 5 seconds, cuts out. Got to keep revs up to avoid engine stalling, this lasts about 5 minutes then runs ok.
Never a problem with temperature above 5, runs great.

Local garage changed fuel filter as every time the car stalls after starting that's the light that comes on (water in fuel filter). They did say however the filter wasn't dirty in any way or have water in it
Been to Honda dealer three times, cleaned screen filter in tank and replaced what they believed to be contaminated fuel ( another two cars in household both using same fuel with no issues)
    still the same.
Honda say they don't know what to try next........ some dealer.... not!! Anyone any ideas or had similar issue? Help!!

I can't tell which 7th Generation Accord you have, but I'm guessing it must be a facelift model if it has a 'water in fuel filter' warning light?

Was the new fuel filter the OEM part made by Denso? Low fuel pressure warnings are almost always due to the fuel filter giving too much restriction, and most aftermarket filters do seem to have this problem.

A Bosch service centre is a far better place than a Honda dealer to take an elderly Honda diesel.

Car is actually a 2009 CR-V 2.2 ICTDI. Filter was changed by independent garage before I took it to Honda dealer, pretty sure it wasn’t an original part.

I'd definitely want to rule out the fuel filter before investigating any further.
