Very impressed. And the range still indicates 76 miles as well.

Anyone else come close or topped that?

  2. Superb.

It must be saving you a fortune compared to a petrol.

    I said through gritted teeth.

Very much so - not that diesel is cheap per se anyway, but certainly for the mileage I'm getting, I have no complaints. Who the heck needs a stupid Prius!

Wow Saj.how did you manage that? One of the joys owning diesel.
I would be lucky to do that on 2 full tanks.

I think my best is nearly 60 MPG. Have you had another tank added???

Wow. That's 69 MPG! I had 52 MPG the other day until I started to over take some slow cars.:Aghast:

    No second tank added.

Much of this was up and down the M3, M4 and M25. Trip computer was showing an average of 62.5mpg but even so, to get nearly 1,000 miles is phenomenal.

    Wow, well done bowdown2.

The best I've managed so far is 701 miles (on a mixture of 22 mile each way commute on A & B roads, plus trips into town etc.). I've yet to take her on a long journey, so here's hoping...

If you can get 701, you will easily top 900 too. Of that I am sure.

Amazing. Must have been a manual?

Best I've managed with my auto is 47mpg on a long motorway run (and I was impressed with that!)

    Yes mate, manual.

I destest autoboxs as much as I despise Audi/BMW/Mercs/French cars. No way could an auto give you this much mileage.

Funny, I haven't had a manual for about 20 years - autos all the way! I've become far too lazy to go back now!

None of the junk from Germany with this sized engine can achieve that feat. Hybrid or otherwise, of that I am confident. :Rolf:

Having just come from a 1.8 petrol VTEC 500 miles on a tank was a new experience for me! Anyone any recomendations on fuel? All my previous cars had a 'favourite'. My Civic had a taste for Shell optimax but as it generally did 30 mile more per tank than on anything else didn't mind paying the extra. Have tried 1 tank of Shell and 1 tank of BP and so far BP is on top.

For this kind of post to be accepted when a guy has his petrol accord in the workshop having the whoop bashed out of it is SERIOUSLY rude, man. Where's a good moderator when you need one ?? (grudgingly impressed  )
