    Hi all. Quick question.

Does the tourer have heated side rear windows? There appear to be heating elements in the glass on both sides, but they don't come on when the rear heated window is activated.

    Faulty, or not heating elements?

    Thanks

    Hi Dan

I wonder if it is the radio antenna.

On the saloon the top part of what looks like the heated rear window elements is actually the antenna and I'm wondering if it is in the side windows on the tourer instead of the rear window.

    Not sure just a thought.

yep, the feeder arrangement is in the picture below (item 7)
the one on the (uk) driver's side is the main antenna, and the other one is a sub-antenna
I suspect that they are both for the VHF receiver to minimise VHF fading
alternatively, the main one is for VHF, the other for MW

Is everyone suddenly trying to fit their club stickers and noticing the element? It caught me out yesterday when I went to align the club sticker on the other side and there wasn't one there.

don't know but the reception from those rear windows is rubbish! LOL well it is in my tourer. I can pick up the radio but it drops out an awful lot.
it would be better as a heated side window LOL

Radio reception on my 8th Generation tourer is brillient no drop outs fading or anything, only time it has any problems is in the middle of the Lake District only then it slightly fades but still lisenable.

Bad reception may be due to loose or corroded connectors on the antenna attachments to the modules (hidden behind the trim, see picture in #5)
