VeilSide 4509GTRA. Madcap Japanese tuning houses rub shoulders with major manufacturers at Japan's most extreme motor show The Japanese car industry gets to let its hair down at the Tokyo Auto Salon, Japan’s equivalent of America’s SEMA show, where major manufacturers share space with extreme customising outfits.
Japan’s five biggest car companies all turned out for the show, each bringing highly tuned race-oriented versions of standard road cars – highlights include Honda’s Mugen tuned N-One city car, Nissan’s Nismo Leaf and a hot diesel Mazda 6.
Toyota’s GT86 was, predictably, the car of the show, with dozens of modified examples from the hardcore (Gazoo Racing’s twin charged Sports FR Concept) to the completely restyled (the rebodied 86 x Style Cb).

I have never had the opportunity to drive the 2.4 CR-V , how does it compare to the 2.0 litre? Presumably it is quicker off the mark and top speed but does it compare to the diesel when it comes to the torque?
I do miss the torque of the 2.2 DTEC .

I can't see those pictures unfortunately - but I can imagine!

    What I've always wanted is a CR-V with Honda's 3.5 V6 unit - that would be special!

Standard brakes would need updated though - they are the weakest link on the current car. Not bad, just not as strong as they should be, and not up to reigning in 350bhp plus of joyful petrol power LOL

343hp, 350Nm torque you can get with with 2.0i turbo, air cooler, ECU and tcm mod / chip (+intake + downpipe) My Q5 has this expensive APR K04 mod, but where could one use this extra power????

I'd use that extra power all the time

Without sounding irresponsible I drive fast where it's safe - and as I'm not interested in modifying I'd love a quicker CR-V as standard.

We nearly bought the new Santa Fe instead with it's 190 BHP - I compromised because my wife wanted the CR-V and I have another (much faster) car!

That said, my old man has a 2.0 Tdi Q5 with the 180 BHP engine that drive a lot - and it is no faster than the CR-V - in fact it struggles at very high speeds - but it does have better brakes LOL

5th Generation CR-V has a 1.5 i-VTEC turbo with 190 BHP. In addition I read rumors regarding 2.0i tubro CR-V, which may appear later, maybe a year after.
