    Hi Guys

What am I looking for when they suggest using a mild car shampoo? Is it to do with the alkaline level?
I looking for one that I can use with my snow foam lance, any help appreciated.

    Cheers
    Dave

Higher alkali levels will clean the muck off better, BUT they will also erode away the wax faster. For that reason, a no alkali shampoo is regarded as better.

There are many different brands available. Personally, I dilute them down even further. Why?
Well it's quite simple. Why do I 'snow foam'? Is it to cover the car in a thick white layer of bubbles? No.
It is to hydrate and soften the mud and muck so that it can be sprayed off.

I do this because all shampoos will erode the wax, so the more concentrated they are, the quicker it will do this.
(As a side line, the same principle applies to hair shampoo. You only need enough to just begin to form a lather. Anything more will dry out the hair. The adverts always show lots of bubbles to imply that's better, but it is just a waste.)

Look for pH neutral snow foam.

I recommend Bild Hamber Autofoam to use with lance, then ph neutral shampoo.
