hi all, now finally put a deposit on a CR-V, wanted the 2.2 diesel ex and after looking at a few and missing out on a stunning one, we have done it,

It's an 07 one owner with 66k serviced by Honda every 6000 miles and is spotless not a mark anywhere, and for a 2007 car we think that's amazing. Ok I lied only one small stone chip on the bottom of bonnet.

Pick it up on Tuesday next week, will get towbar fitted then off for a short weekend break we think with caravan
Will post pics when we get her

Cheers for ya help guys in previous posts

Watch those stone chips on the bonnet, I did another 15 at the weekend, now have about 40 (don't live down a track or anything), will have to have the bonnet resprayed I reckon and then protect it.......

Just picked up an 07 EX petrol. Similar miles - also fantastic condition! Hope you're as pleased with yours as I am with mine!

Hi all, ok an update on our car... well since we bought it in July we have only had it on our drive all of 3 weeks, since then to now the car has been at the garage where we bought it from, we found out the car had a problem with the steering, it has been back and forth to the garage in Cambridge about 6 times, apparently there fully trained technicians every time say they fixed it,, first time they said it did not have a problem lol.... ok so it has had 3 racks fitted they have reconditioned the steering pump re filled the fluid I don’t know how many times, changed the rear diff oil, checked for blocked pipes, the last we heard they took the 3rd rack off and had a specialist test it, and apparently all ok with it, but didn’t think to tell us,,, called them today and they are going to change all the hoses.... this is ridiculous, I thought Honda CR-V were bullet proof who knows when we will get our car to enjoy it. Getting a little put off Honda to be fair.. just to add the problem is that the steering pulsates going around roundabouts and also when parked up, at certain points wheel turned about 3quaters... maybe I can see why it’s got low mileage now... also have been told they have just got another one in and that is also doing the same as ours..... might be time to re think???

ARe you using a Honda main dealer to find the problem? Maybe try a recommended Honda garage? At least to identify the fault at their cost?
It sounds like they are trying to fix it by replacing parts according to whatever the computer tells them. They need to find the fault.
Remember that you have six months warranty, in law, and they have to fix it or give your money back. Maybe its time to get official by sending them a recorded delivery letter that unless they fix it in the near future you will return the car for a full refund, less any cost for normal usage, which in your case is very little.

Hi all thought I would give you an update, the main dealer we got the car from ( not Honda ) has not taken the car to Honda and told them to fix it as they have come to an end with it, now Honda have had it all this week and have now taken the matter up with the manufacture direct, they want to put a new Honda rack on as they seem to think it’s that, but don’t want to do it if it isn’t that because of cost..... this is a joke, surely it cannot be that hard to sort out....... or can it, Will we get the car back for Christmas,,,,, who knows the story continues.......

My CR-V did this on the test drive three years ago when I bought from my local main dealer. I mentoined it to them and they said it was fine, if I remember I did some research and found that its common, I forgot about to be honest not had any problems in 3 years and 45k miles. For the record I too have an 07 plate diesel full Honda history still Honda dealer mauntained and 123k miles on the clock, only just had to change the orginal battery this week! Diff fluid change made no difference.

rear diff oil changed 3 times, rear diff inspected with a camera thing and looks clean and as it should, so not rear diff, unless they cannot see it.
Honda garage now gone to manufacture again after putting main dealer part on and has still not solved issue, it did make it a little better but not fixed it

will keep you all updated.. oneday it should be fixed lol

As I said its common I wouldn't worry about. Try a google search for " power steering pulsating" there are reports from many differing manufacturers, its not a problem its system dependent on the design.

If it wasn't a problem then I would not have sent the car back to be repaired, also if it was not a problem then the garage would not have had the car for all these months trying to fix it.. Also if it was not a problem why would Honda main dealer garage be in contact with the manufacturer trying to sort it..

this vehicle would not have been built and sold with this issue there for why should I not worry about it ?? there is clearly a PROBLEM with it as it is not doing what it was from manufactured All cars get old and things start to ware and all mechanical items break down.... would you say that the car not starting is not a problem don't worry you can still roll it down the hill and tow it back up again... that can be said is not a problem!! may be to some it isn't but to others it is..

there is clearly a problem there somewhere and it needs to be fixed. the car was sold to me listed as no defects and with warentee, this unfortunately it turns out is not the case,

I'm happy that you are able to use your vehicle with the defects that it might have, but I'm sorry I am not prepaired to ...

this may seem harsh but its not ment that way

    many thanks

Well Kev its your car and I have mentoined the "problem" to my dealer in the past and as far as I am concerned nothing to worry about, coincidentally my car has been sold and maintained by this dealer from almost new and before that a sister honda dealership from the same dealer group. As for me living with a problem on a car, my CR-V is still dealer serviced and maintained it does not go anywhere other than my dealer and if they had concerns it would be adressed. You asked for advice and thoughts and you have recieved them so please don't have a go when the answer is not to your liking. Like I said your car!!!!!!!

Not having a go mate and to be honest I am thankful for your replies and others, weather I like them or not, my views are not the same as everyone’s I’m sorry if I was a little hard in my response I am not out to offend,

I am just unable to live with this problem it might well be safe but it is very unnerving and if it turns out to be the way it’s ment to be then I will not accept the car, It will be a shame as I do love the car,

I’m not a mechanic but I’m a professional driver and have been for 20 odd years now and have driven all kinds of vehicles from biggest to smallest allowed on uk roads and have never experienced this issue and found it to be normal

Update today, manufacture has advised new pump not a recon pump....

    The story continues
