    Hi guys,

my Stream developed a broken Primary O2 sensor issue which boils down to having a need to replace it. I found and NGK item that doesn't hurt the pocket so much however... It states that is only applicable to the 1.7 litre engine.
Now as I have the K20 I was wondering if they are interchangeable between the two? From the pictures the plug and wiring looks the same, but since I am not an expert I rather ask than waste money.
    Cheers for any help!

It should work. Are the wire length and connector correct for your car?

@SpeedyGee bu looking at the pictures it looks the same to me to be fair. Plug is same shape, 4 wires
This actually looks like what I have found but dearer by £3  It must be good enough then. Will double check though as the one on the second link you provided shows prongs going out of the sensor and the one I have found shows that the prongs should be on the car. It seems that I will have to go under the car to make sure

  9. +1, why specifically say 1.7 only otherwise.

Cheers @andy83 ! I knew it is the pre cat one as indicated by the error code, just wasn't sure if the plug is male or female. Now that I have that knowledge I can sort it out

Just an update as completely forgot to put the solution here :Frown:

So changing the sensor resolved the issue!
However the same error came up some time ago later and... It was insufficient oil level in the engine! Light went off after topping up and driving a little bit. So make sure your engine has enough oil in

Yes I am aware Andy  But cheers for mentioning that anyway  Changing the chain, tensioner and adjusting valve clearances is on the list along with changing track rod ends and polyurethane filling engine mounts as they are... Well.. tired

And that is why any engine light will get a check on the good ol' dipstick first
