Hi everyone, I LOVE this car but it does have one fault - the heater takes ages to warm up and even then it doesn't get very hot. Now that winter is here I am wondering if there are any mods that can be done to make it more efficient?
    Cheers

    Hi Terrya,
It might be the air mix motor cable, take a look at this thread:

By the way, if you're looking for real 'mods', there's not that much you can do. I think I'm the only one on this forum that made a mod to decrease warming up time of the engine:
    Exists also for 2.2 I-DTEC.

The heater in my I-DTEC seems to work well as soon as the engine starts to warm, but that always takes time with diesels, doesn't it? This is my first, so I'm still on the learning curve.
I think I read in the handbook that there is some sort of device that burns diesel briefly, after a cold start, to make the heater warm up quicker. Mine certainly blows warm before the needle starts climbing up the temperature gauge. Maybe it's only fitted to European market versions - it's much colder over here at the moment, as is usual in winter.
