    Hi all,
On most occasions i get a real high pitched whining noise while driving and turning steering. Sometimes its not there at all and other times it might just go away while driving. I think its to do with the power steering fluid. There has been a leak for a weeks now around the fluid tank and feeling under it the hose was clearly wet. The clamp underneath holding the hose was changed and the hose didnt appear to have any visible cracks, everything wiped down. Today i checked again and its still wet underneath on the hose but doesn;t appear to be leaking from the top. I also had the engine running and noticed the fluid was bubbling and frothing inside the container. So is this the O ring issue or could there be another leak somewhere which is letting the air in. I do have a video of the sound while stationary and moving the steering it that helps. I wanted to get all the required parts in one go before the weekend.

    thanks

    Good advice @andy83
The bottle itself isn't cracked is it ?

Change the O ring and do a full fluid flush, hopefully that should fix the frothing issue. If it's still frothing after fluid flush then you definately have a leak somewhere.

Old fluid can froth up too.

o ring ordered. This is the colour of the existing fluid looks fairly light??
I wonder if the fluid might be leaking from the cap as this picture shows how high its bubbling.

My six pence worth...had the same thing...whining...flushed and changed. I used the PSF from the Honda garage...all sorted. No more whining. All of the generic mechanics and the honda garage for that matter said change the pump...lucky I came here first. Oh and I did the change over a year ago...still OK.
